FinTech and AI for Inclusive SME Growth: Levelling the Digital Playing Field

I’m pleased to share that my written evidence to the UK Parliament’s House of Commons Committees (Business and Trade Committee) has now been published as part of the Small Business Strategy inquiry.

It is an honour to contribute research-informed insights on SME finance, digitalisation, and the practical barriers that small firms face when accessing support, adopting technology, and competing with larger organisations.

The submission builds on my work in FinTech, SME finance, and behavioural decision-making, highlighting the need for inclusive digital tools, clearer support pathways, and policy frameworks that reflect the realities of micro-businesses, family firms, and underrepresented founders. Strengthening the digital capacity of SMEs, especially through accessible AI solutions and improved financial technologies, is essential for levelling the playing field.
